BB Blackdog- Great Maiden Voyage On Board The Craft





     So just a week of summer!!! remains and last Friday saw the end of the outdoor festivals for the year. It is as they say an ill wind that blows no good and with the openers for On Board The Craft stuck on the road,BB stepped in to perform a more extensive set than expected to a fabulous reception and lots of good comments from people having their first experience of the band.
    
     A little short on time, for reasons beyond control this week, so with apologies for brevity onto this coming weekend.

    It has been a while since playing in Dale's home town, however as luck would have it BB are back tonight, Friday at The George And Dragon in Belper. If you haven't seen them on their travels recently, well worth a look, the amount of recent gigs has really polished the show. Oh and Demolitia has some splendid new wings to check out.

    For anyone less familiar with Belper, the pub is on Derwent Street(A6), in close proximity to both rail and bus stations.

    On Saturday a return to The Barge in Long Eaton, where they were well received back in March on their debut visit.

    Again handily placed for public transport on Tamworth Road, a few minutes walk from the train station and the Indigo bus sevice runs along Tamworth Road until late, bound for both Derby and Nottingham.

     Some really nice entries already in for the green field photo competion and still open until Sunday, if you have any ideas left up your sleeve.

    Hope you managed to catch Dale's slot on vbnavradio last night, a really good relaxed interview, interspersed with a good helping of classic and new BB tunes.   So Thanks to vbnavradio for that. School's Out For Summer!

             Oh Yes, it's time for that institution known simply as "Rock and Blues". It has been around in a few different guises for over a quarter of a century now. Reaching it's zenith in the early part of this new millennium when numbers were around the 30,000 mark.            This years event will see only about 10% of those crowd figures, which going by last year's event makes for a nice compact site and a great friendly atmosphere. Another plus is that the Derbyshire weather looks set to make it even hotter than last year.            BB's slot is on The Platform 15 outdoor stage at 1.40pm on the Saturday afternoon and will involve dancers. Metropolis are also forming part of this Steampunk slot. And Life Goes On (You Know It Aint Easy)

      Well firstly, wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, a year bereft of Olympics or Jubilees, how will we fill our days? I feel sure we will all cope. It already looks a great year for live music events on varying scales of grandeuer, lets hope the weather has made a resolution,to smile a little more.       February brings us the Year Of The Snake, indeed to be precise, The Water Snake, noted as quite motivated and intellectual, very determined and resolute about success. So here's to hoping.       One last mention of snakes, this time in human form, to those who saw fit in the early hours of Saturday the 22nd of December, to break into the BB mobile and remove all from within.
