Steampunk (It's The Future)

,
Two live shows on this weekend's horizon. Friday a short notice appearance at "The Snooty Fox" in Wakefield, a popular venue with the band and easily found on the bottom end of Kirkgate, just out of the city centre.

Many of the live performance clips you can view on "the net" are from "The Snooty Fox" and some of the footage is destined for use in a futue dvd release.

Usually gigs can be viewed live on their own stream, check it out on Friday by all means, although it is believed this weeks show is not going out live.

Saturday The 23rd BB are back at the appropriately named "Steamboat" at Trent Lock a venue whose boards they haven't trod for the best part of two years, however just like the proverbial buses they have two more bookings there this year.

The Steamboat, a venue with a good reputation for live music, sits on the junction of The Erewash Canal and The River Trent, just outside Long Eaton. Walkable from Long Eaton Rail via Fields Farm Road and right onto the canal tow path or Tamworth Road(heading towards Castle Donington), left into Netherfield Road and left onto Lock Lane.

Now talking about Steampunk being the future, if you can excuse the pun, then it does appear that mainstream festivals are starting pick up on it.

Hot on the heels of last weeks news that the potentially 50,000 crowd, AltFest is to include a full Steampunk arena in 2014, comes the inclusion of a Steampunk afternoon on one of the smaller stages, Saturday at Glastonbudget this coming year, with BB and Metropolis already penciled in. The festival takes place in Leicestershire on the last weekend in May.

Further to that, Bearded Theory, taking place the preceeding weekend at Kedleston Hall, just outside Derby, have just added BB to their bill, with a nice  headlining slot on "The Lock Inn" stage, on Sunday night.

Whilst they are not running a dedicated slot/area, more Steampunk can be found earlier Sunday on "The Tornado Town" stage in the form of "Sunday Driver"and also on that stage, Saturday are "The Men That Will Not Blamed For Nothing"

Later in the year BB and Metropolis have been asked to join the Hastrek All Dayer space/psyc orientated event, on a bill including Doctor Hasbeen and Pre Med. Diary date for that one is October 19th at The South Wingield Social Club.

A lot of excitement surrounding the achievement of a Top 500 position on The Global "Reverbnation" chart. Mixing with the big boys now!       http://www.reverbnation.com/bbblackdog.

Just seven days left on the fundraiser at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bb-blackdog-fundraiser-we-need-your-help, so a last chance to have a look what is available and help push the total up.

Lastly. Wishing all concerned a good day at "The Second Surrey Steampunk Convivial" on Saturday at The Royal Oak Function Rooms, close by New Malden Rail. In the evening musical delights courtesy of the three pronged Midlands attack of Crimson Clocks, Birthrite and Gladstone who are joined by  the more local Moth.
