A Steaming Grand Day Out
So we come around to Steampunk Solstice time again. This year reverting to it's original one day format and with the barometers still set fair in The Derbyshire Dales, a repeat of that first yea'rs torrential rain will definitely be avoided.
The venue is the usual one, of The Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath and the date is this coming Saturday, June 28th.
A couple of pluses for this year are, that the event runs from 10am through until 6pm, to enable people get home more easily and that there is no admission charge.
The market will run all day and stage performances will run from midday featuring BB, Acoustic BlackDog, Lord Montague Jaques Fromage III's Steampunk Funk Bizarre, Kai Swarvett and others.
Moving into July, BB head to another Steampunk event, The Black Country Steam-O-Rama at The Griffin in Dudley on Sunday the 20th.
The event also features music from old friends Crimson Clocks and Steampunk Burlesque from Steam Tease. There will also be market stalls, open from 5pm and entry is free and i guess it goes without saying, The Griffin is a Bank's house.
On the last weekend of July BB are playing at the great Derbyshire summer traditional gathering, The Rock and Blues Old School Weekender.
BB's slot is on the Saturday, with timings to be confirmed soon at http://rockandbluestickets.co.uk/website/, also tickets available from the site at £25 for Saturday or £37 for the weekend. Headliners are a name from the past on Friday, Vardis and one for the future on Saturday, Toseland.
The fine tuning is now going into the planning for "The Steampunk Experience" at AltFest , which runs for three days from August 15th, the Steampunk stage will be running from 6pm on the Friday, 4pm Saturday and 3 on Sunday into the following day, the market will be open from 10am daily, demonstrations, competitions, a fashion show and parade, will fill the day up, prior to the music.
All sounds excellent! Tickets via http://www.alt-fest.com/2014/steampunk-experience.
