BB Blackdog-No Sleep til Long Eaton (A Whistlestop Tour of Derbyshire)

With three outings this week, all within Derbyshire, it presents the last opportunities, for a while to catch the band on home soil, before they put the miles in. Amongst their travels a couple of really interesting steampunk do's on 9th and 10th, details next week.

Other than the "Live and Unsigned" appearance in Derby on April 14th, they are not scheduled to play in the county again before June (can't helping thinking, they will squeeze one in somewhere though).

Must say, well done for taking the stage last week at The South Sea, whilst suffering from the, now infamously virilant Gladstonitis virus (that is going to require one of those superlative demic prefix soon).

The band open this weeks proceedings on Wednesday at a new venue for them, The Eagle Tavern on Ripley Road in Heage as part of the launch night for a new monthly Bandstand promotion, this week fellow local bands The Cubists and Matlock's 3 Second Fuse share the stage. Welcomingy, since the pub serves at least three ales The Eagle is serviced vitually to the door by the 6.2/6.3 bus and it provides for return to both Belper and Ripley after 11pm.

Friday sees the action move to central Derby and the well established music venue, The Sitwell Tavern situated on Sitwell Street, as far as can be ascertained BB Blackdog have the stage to themselves for the night.

Saturday night and it is to The Barge on Tamworth Road in Long Eaton for the "Candelit Evening".
This promises to be an excellent night, i understand Demolitia has been working on some moves and will be bringing other dancers in the form of "Boudica Revival". The show also features singer/ songwriter Wes Dolan, who with success in film and tv music writing, launches his first album.
Conveniently there are trains back to Derby and Nottingham after 11.30 from Long Eaton station less than half a mile down Tamworth Road.

Further details of this last item in a future blog. For now by way of introduction, the band are trying to generate some capital to finish off the second album and and to create a video trilogy. For this purpose a slot has been generated on PledgeMusic a site created by amongst others Peter Gabriel, as a vehicle for artists to raise funding for projects by offering fans some unusual, even unique items and oppurtunities in return for monetary pledges.
